museums

Two museums in two days.  Last Thursday Rory and I went to the science museum and then on Friday we visited the children's museum.  We had fun at both museums.

The science museum is really for slightly older children, but Rory still had a great time.  Rory's absolute most favorite thing there was the giant image captor.  There was also a section with xylophones that she enjoyed playing, a textile area she explored and examples of simple machinery that kept her attention for about two seconds per machine.

The children's museum is located in downtown Stavanger and I've thought about going several times but hadn't made it there yet.  Friday was a rainy day and we wanted to do something with our friends Heather and Hannah so we gave it a try.  It's all about play and small -- particularly compared to CMH where I worked for several years.  Rory enjoyed it enough that I bought a membership so that we can enjoy it as often as we like during the next year.  It's very close to our house and will be a great place to visit on cold, rainy days.
